Nefesh B’nefesh – “Life In Israel”
Aliyah has come a long, long way since Avraham was commanded, “Go to the Land…”. There may have been less bureaucratic offices to deal with back then, but the challenge was still great. Without flinching, Avraham rose to that challenge in a manner that still inspires every Jewish soul today. Today there are more and more “modern-day Avraham Avinus” who are returning to Eretz Yisrael, on their own or with their family, and successfully building their lives and future.
As you sit in shul this Shabbat, and hear the words read from the Torah “Lech lecha…”, take these words into your heart. Hashem was speaking not only to Avraham. Hashem is speaking to you today as well.
