On Monday, The New York Post published an editorial crediting the mayor for standing up to the teachers union and helping pass Intro 65 A. The bill, sponsored by Council Member David Greenfield, will provide $20 million to pay for security guards for private schools with more than 300 children.

As the Post wrote.

״Yet there were zero real grounds to withhold funds. Not when the city faces heightened terror threats. And when government regularly pays for other secular private-school expenses, like textbooks and nurses.״

The editorial concluded:

Kudos to the mayor and speaker for doing the right thing — and to the key group that pushed this bill, the Orthodox Union.
