Barry Berkowitz, a proud alumnus of NCSY and Camp Sports, helped ring the NASDAQ Closing Bell last month with the head of YouTube and this year’s top YouTube Stars. Berkowitz is a member of Google’s Investor Relations team and grew up in East Meadow. He attended his first NCSY Shabbaton in sixth grade and was immediately hooked.

“I look back with very fond memories of NCSY,” Berkowitz said. “It was the highlight of my high school experience, especially coming from a public school environment.”

Rabbi Yehoshua Marchuck, director of NCSY Alumni Connections and former regional director of Long Island Junior NCSY, said he wasn’t surprised by Barry’s amazing success.

“It was obvious from Barry’s Junior NCSY days that his enthusiasm for leadership and his desire for growth in Judaism would propel him to the greatness he’s seeing today as both a professional at Google and leader in his Jewish community,” stated Rabbi Marchuck.

Berkowitz continues to support NY NCSY from his home in California and he recently took NCSY Summer participants on a tour of Google headquarters. He was profiled in last year’s issue of NCSY’s Ignite Magazine. Read the story here.
