Poor Lester. He may go down as the boy who ruined Purim.

Megillas Lester, an animated feature by KolRom Multimedia (the company behind the animated clips at the Siyum HaShas at MetLife Stadium), is the story of Lester, an ordinary yeshiva student, who somehow finds himself back in the time of the Persian empire. He then proceeds to inadvertently ruin the miracle by getting Vashti to attend Ahashverosh’s party, after all (oops!). That triggers a chain reaction through which Haman becomes more powerful…and well, you’ll have to watch it yourself to see how it ends.

Megillas Lester will be released on iTunes and DVD on March 3.

The OU Israel Center will host the Israeli premiere on Motza’ei Shabbat, March 8, at 8:00 p.m. The film will be shown again on Monday, March 10, and Wednesday, March 12, at 4:30. Cost is NIS 30 per person and includes hamentashen and drinks. For reservations call 02-560-9100.

From what we can see, the trailer looks great and may have perhaps the best newspaper focused on hanging: The Daily Noose.
