The better question is why are they so uncertain of the beauty and meaningfulness of their beliefs that they put every obstacle possible in the way of people seeking conversion.

How will the “gentle voice” of tolerance encourage the ultraOrthodox in Israel to share power over religious matters, to acknowledge the authority of modern Orthodox, Masorti & Reform rabbis, to respect non-Haredi women, & to contribute economically & in other civic ways to  Israel?
Yes, we need more mutual respect (and not just within Orthodoxy – but across the denominational divides). But fundamentally, we do not face a problem of simple mutual intolerance. Intolerance is NOT equivalent at every point along the Jewish spectrum. Intolerance that affects the rights, the choices and the future of others had better be called “oppression” than intolerance. It’s a much greater danger to Judaism and our community than are the criticism and disagreements one religious branch has toward another.

I think that Jews who Fight with Their Own Pupils (We are learning everyday. We are still students.) is MORE ANTI-SEMETIC because it is JEWISH-SELF-HATRED.
     Listen but do NOT Obey.
Meaning I can Listen to someone who does NOT support Israel. I will NOT stop Supporting Israel however, because someone told me to. That’s an excuse.
