Double Your Daf HaShavua

hero image

Last week was a banner week for those who study the daf, whether by the week or by the day. Daf Yomi (the daily daf) started tractate Sanhedrin, with shiurim by Rabbi Moshe Elefant and Rabbi Shalom Rosner. As luck would have it, Rabbi Yosef Grossman is currently teaching the first chapter of Sanhedrin in Talmud Yerushalmi, which lines up nicely with Daf Yomi, at least for the time being. Meanwhile, Daf HaShavua (the weekly daf) just started tractate Rosh Hashana, taught by Rabbi Larry Rothwachs, who just completed teaching tractate Beitzah.

In addition to the shiurim by Rabbi Rothwachs, Daf HaShavua features resources provided by our friends at Daf A Week, including maareh m’komos from Rabbi Yitzchok Gutterman, a daf summary from Rabbi Chaim Smulowitz, and a weekly daf review quiz. Now, Daf HaShavua brings you even more: a second shiur! (Why not? We have two shiurim for Daf Yomi and umpteen on parsha, right?)

The second Daf HaShavua shiur is being presented by Rabbi Daniel Glatstein, mara d’asra of Kehillas Ahavas Yisrael in Cedarhurst, NY. Rabbi Glatstein is a Torah scholar and a seasoned maggid shiur who for years has delivered shiurim on a broad array of subjects including parshas hashavua, gemara, Mishnah Brurah, Jewish history and many other subjects at numerous shuls, yeshivos and other mosdos. Rabbi Glatstein’s shiur on Daf HaShavua appears courtesy of Torah Anytime.

Daf HaShavua is specifically designed to enable people to study gemara at a slower pace, taking time to review and better master the material. If you haven’t already tried it, why not check out Daf HaShavua with Rabbi Rothwachs, Rabbi Glatstein, or both? Visit OU Torah online or by using the OU Torah app for iOS and Android.
