Rosh Hashana 5778 is almost upon us and as we make the transition into a new year, OU Torah is thrilled to be able to offer a wide variety of new series to enhance your Torah-learning opportunities! Some of these have already started and others are still to be revealed, so we’ll just bring you up to speed on the first wave for now.
First up, we have Timely Topics in Halacha by Rabbi Isaac Rice, assistant rabbi at Congregation Anshei Chesed and a teacher at the Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls. We told you about this series around the time of the eclipse and, since then, it has addressed such issues as contemporary questions of cross-dressing (such as “may a man wear pink Crocs?”) and the laws and minhagim of reading the tochacha.
Additionally, we have a number of new series being brought to us through the OU Israel Center. Those that have already begun as of this writing include:
- Unlocking the Messages in Chazal by Rabbi Shai Finkelstein (Listen to the first shiur, on Tanur Shel Achnai and Zaken Mamrei);
- Mishlei: Wisdom for Life by Rabbi Yitzchak Breitowitz (listen to the first shiur here); and
- Rebbetzin Pearl Borow on Nach (listen to the first shiur, Amos #1, here).
There are a number of additional shiurim from OU Israel still waiting to be unveiled, plus some exciting new parsha series and a few more surprises, so keep checking us out online at OU Torah or by using the OU Torah app for iOS and Android. Have a k’sivah v’chasimah tovah and we’ll see you all in 5778!
