Elisheva Baumel of Givat Ze’ev gave birth to her 10th child within 24 hours of her first grandchild being born. Baumel gave birth in Hadassah Har Hatzofim hospital not long after her daughter-in-law Leah Baumel had given birth in the same ward.
“It was a very special experience,” said Aharon Shmuel Baumel, the father/grandfather, who is a medic for Magen David Adom.
“Generally, the grandmother helps her daughter-in-law to raise the grandchildren,” said Professor Simcha Yagel, Director of the Maternity Ward of Hadassah. “Only a few merit that the grandmother and daughter-in-law should raise their children together.”
