“Zeh hayom asah Hashem, nagilah v’nismecha bo. This is the day that G-d has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
With gratitude to Hashem for answering our prayers, today, Hoshana Rabba 5786, we are overjoyed that the last of our beloved living hostages have returned home and that we stand at a juncture that can, with G-d’s help, lead to peace and security for Israel. Today we have no political statements – only words of gratitude and prayer to the Almighty.
Gratitude to the Almighty
Nishmat kol chai: If our mouths were as full of song as the sea is filled with water and our tongues with joy as its masses of waves; if our lips were full of praise like the vastness of the heavens, and our eyes shone like the sun and the moon; if our hands could extend like the eagles of the sky; and our feet as swift as the deer; we would be incapable of expressing our gratitude to You, our G-d and the G-d of our ancestors and to bless Your name for even one of the thousand thousands and multitude of multitudes of kindnesses that You have done for our ancestors and for us in the past – and that You have done for us today.
Our gratitude to President Trump knows no bounds. We express it in praying that G-d continue to guide his global leadership.
Hanotein t’shua la-m’lachim: May He Who grants victory to kings and dominion to princes, Whose kingdom is everlasting, bless and protect, guard and help, exalt, magnify, and uplift President Trump and all the officials of the United States government. In his day and in ours may Judah be saved and Israel dwell in safety, may peace envelope the world and the Redeemer come to Zion, Amen.
We pray that G-d bless and protect the State of Israel and guide Prime Minister Netanyahu and the leaders of the State of Israel with His light and truth. We pray for the healing of the hostages who have returned alive and for comfort for the families of those deceased. We pray to the Almighty for the strength and perseverance of the soldiers of Tzahal to whom our gratitude is unending, we pray that G-d grant them and their families strength and healing, and that He bring comfort to the families of those who gave their lives for our people.
