Dan Meridor, Israeli Deputy Prime Minister from 2009 until 2013, spoke Tuesday night at King’s College in London. Anti-Israel protesters appeared at the venue to decry the speaker as a “war criminal” and Israel as a “terrorist state.”
The protesters’ screaming from outside the venue interrupted the lecture. Students who arrived to hear the former Deputy Prime Minister’s lecture reported that they were threatened and intimidated by the protesters. Reports differ as to whether police had to be called at the end of the event to enable the audience members to leave safely.
