Ibrahim Frahat, a 27-year-old member of Saraya al-Quds, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, died in an accidental explosion in northern Gaza on Saturday night according to the Hamas-linked Palestinian Information Center. In a statement, Saraya al-Quds said that Frahat died “while preparing for battle.”
According to Major-General Yoav Mordechai, the Israeli official responsible for liaising with Palestinians, Frahat died “manufacturing weapons and ammunitions for Islamic Jihad.” On Facebook, Mordechai opined that, “It is no surprise that a person who plays with fire ultimately harms himself.”
