El Al to Remove Passengers Who Refuse to Sit Next to Women

El Al Israel Airlines has announced that they will immediately remove any passenger who refuses to sit next to another passenger for any reason after NICE System, a major Israeli tech company, announced that it would no longer fly on the airline.

NICE System CEO Barak Eilam announced on social media that the company would not “do business with companies that discriminate against race, gender or religion” and that they would not fly on El Al “until they change their practice and actions discriminating women.” This announcement was made days after an El Al flight from New York to Israel was delayed by over an hour when four men refused to take their assigned seats next to women.

Last year, an Israeli court ruled that El Al cannot ask women to move seats to accommodate men who do not want to sit next to them.
