There will be several events taking place in Toronto as part of Yachad/National Jewish Council for Disabilities’ North American Inclusion Month (NAIM).
Yachad/NJCD, an agency of the Orthodox Union now celebrating its 25th anniversary, is dedicated to enhancing life for those with disabilities. It has designated February 2010 as a month specifically designated to raise awareness and develop sensitivity of what it means for those who live with disabilities, and how to include them in the larger community.
“Move ‘n’ Mingle,” interactive dance activity nights, will take place Thursday evenings, February 4, 11, and 18, from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. at the Prosserman JCC, 4588 Bathhurst Street.
There will be free Torah High classes Wednesdays in February, from 7:00 -8:00 p.m. at NCSY Centre, 7000 Bathhurst Street.
On Shabbat, February 5-6, there will be a Yachad Shabbaton held in conjunction with B’nei Akiva at Ohr Chaim Yeshiva, 159 Almore Avenue.
