There will be several events taking place in Baltimore as part of Yachad/National Jewish Council for Disabilities’ North American Inclusion Month (NAIM).
Yachad/NJCD, an agency of the Orthodox Union now celebrating its 25th anniversary, is dedicated to enhancing life for those with disabilities. It has designated February 2010 as a month specifically to raise awareness and develop sensitivity of what it means for those who live with disabilities, and how to include them in the larger community.
On Monday, February 1, there will be a Torah and Dinner event, “Baltimore Eats B’Yachad,” from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Tov Pizza, 6313 Reistertown Road. The entire community is encouraged to come out and join Yachad for dinner. The dinner will take place at Tov Pizza, from 5:30 -7:30 p.m.
On Sunday, February 7, there will be a “Good Sports” event from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Beth T’filoh Dahan Community School, 3300 Old Court Rd. On Tuesday, February 9, there will be a Maalot/Beth Israel program in which students at Beth Israel Hebrew School will join together with Yachad members for a day of fun.
