In keeping with its goal of inspiring Jewish youth and forming a connection to their Jewish heritage, West Coast NCSY will be hosting a Shabbat Chevron, on Friday and Saturday March 27-28. The weekend includes two special guests; Yossi Baumol, the Executive Director of the Hebron Fund and Simcha Hochbaum, the Israel Director of Tourism.
On Friday night an oneg will be held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Larry and Wendy Platt at 9:45 pm; Saturday night features a presentation and Melave Malka at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nader and Mireille Manesh at 9:30 pm. The chairs of the program are Rabbi Elazar Muskin, of the Young Israel of Century City; Rabbi Dovid Revah, of Adas Torah; Rabbi Yosef Kanefsky, of Bnei David; and Rabbi Steven Weil, of Beth Jacob Congregation.
Rabbi Effie Goldberg, Director of West Coast NCSY and JSU, declared, “We are excited to be hosting Yossi Baumol, Executive Director of the Hebron Fund, as well as Simcha Hochbaum, the Israel Director of Tourism. It is our collective goal to bring the stories and Torah of Eretz Yisrael and Chevron to both young and old. The speakers follow the teachings of Rav Kook, and hope to ‘add light instead of complaining about the darkness.’”
