We of the Orthodox Union offer our sincere prayers for the success of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his critical mission on behalf of the State of Israel. We stand squarely behind him as he raises his voice on behalf of the Jewish state, a true light unto the nations, within the darkness of the UN General Assembly.
While there are serious differences of opinion across all segments of the American Jewish community regarding the current controversies in Israel, we note the Prime Minister’s significant steps towards compromise. We appreciate his recognition of the need to resolve this ongoing situation that has negatively impacted the critical relationship and identification of many American Jews with the State of Israel. We hope that these steps will be recognized and reciprocated by the opposition.
Criticism of the Prime Minister and his ruling coalition must be addressed in the right time and place. Here today we stand firmly behind him in prayer and support.
