“TAKE 5 FOR TORAH” RESUMES ON THE OU HOMEPAGE WITH INSIGHTS ON THE WEEKLY TORAH PORTION BY RABBI SHMUEL GOLDIN

The popular Orthodox Union video presentation, “Take 5 for Torah,” resumes highlighting the weekly Torah portion with Rabbi Shmuel Goldin providing the commentary. Rabbi Goldin serves as rabbi of Congregation Ahavath Torah in Englewood, NJ.

Frank Buchweitz, Director of the OU Department of Community Services and program coordinator, stated, “Take 5 for Torah provides insights highlighting an aspect of the weekly Torah portion with meaningful applications for today’s living in a five-minute video presentation. Rabbi Goldin explains concepts in a relevant manner for all of us today.”

Rabbi Goldin has published three volumes of “Unlocking Torah Text” on Sefer Bereisheet, Shemot, and Vayikra which are co-published by OU Press and Gefen Publishing House. He received his rabbinic ordination from the Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University. He has served as spiritual leader of Congregation Ahavath Torah since 1984. Rabbi Goldin is an instructor of Bible, Philosophy and Talmud at the Isaac Breuer College and the Mechina Program of Yeshiva University; founding director and lecturer at The Eve Flechner Torah Institute; and currently serves as the first Vice President of the Rabbinical Council of America.
