The Orthodox Union’s former President and Chairman of the Board Stephen J. Savitsky will be guest speaker at the Young Israel of Oceanside on Saturday, January 10, Shabbat Parshat Shemot.
The OU-member synagogue is located at 150 Waukena Avenue.
During the Shabbat morning service Mr. Savitsky will be delivering his sermon on “Birthright, the OU and Partners in Torah: The Trifecta.” In the afternoon he will be giving a lecture on the topic “The Challenges Facing the Torah Community in the Next Decade.”
Rabbi Jonathan Muskat declared, “We at the Young Israel of Oceanside are excited about hosting Stephen Savitsky this coming Shabbat. Mr. Savitsky truly is a leader of Klal Yisrael (the Jewish people) and we look forward to benefiting from his wisdom and experience.”
