SPONSOR OF OU JOB FAIR, MANHATTAN BOROUGH PRESIDENT SCOTT STRINGER, APPEARED TODAY AT THE EVENT
Sponsor of the Orthodox Union’s Second Virtual Job Fair, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, who lent the prestige of his office to attract employers and to publicize the event, appeared today at the OU Headquarters while candidates were interviewed live via video conference with HR personnel in their offices.
The Virtual Job Fair is a project of the OU’s national Job Board, www.ou.org/jobs, which seeks to provide employment opportunities to the unemployed and those seeking better positions. The Fair was held free of charge to employment candidates and employers.
“It is great that the OU is connecting employers and employees and is giving people better opportunities. I wanted to be a part of this connection between people and businesses,” declared Mr. Stringer.
“We are proud to have Mr. Stringer visit the OU and to participate in this significant event. His contribution has helped publicize the Fair and we are hoping that many of today’s candidates will obtain employment,” stated Steve Savitsky, OU President.
The first Virtual Job Fair which was held in June secured 35 jobs, 20 of which were arranged on the spot. The OU scheduled this event prior to the start of the High Holidays to benefit those who want to obtain employment or better positions before the New Year.
According to Mr. Stringer, the Fair is a “wonderful way to focus on career in a relaxed atmosphere. It is obvious that much thought and preparation has gone into it.”
