The Orthodox Union Department of Synagogue and Community Services presents a Community Weekend with OU Manhattan and Regional Director Rabbi Dovid M. Cohen on Saturday morning, December 12, Shabbat Chanukah and Rosh Chodesh Tevet, Parshat Miketz.
The program will take place at Congregation Ramath Orah on the Upper West Side, 550 West 110th Street. Rabbi Cohen will deliver a sermon following the Shacharit on “Rabim B’yad Miatim (Many in the Hands of the Few) – Strengthening Faith in Challenging Times.”
Rabbi Cohen recently completed nine years as rabbi of the Young Israel of the West Side, helping to make it one of the most popular and dynamic shuls in Manhattan. As OU Regional Director, he serves synagogue constituencies in Manhattan, the Bronx, Westchester and Connecticut. In addition, Rabbi Cohen is Director of Community Outreach for Yachad, the OU’s agency for individuals with special needs.
He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School; a Masters in Counseling from the University of North Texas; and sits as a rabbinical judge for the Beth Din of America. He is also a popular guest columnist for Mishpacha magazine. His first book, entitled “We’re Almost There-Living With Patience, Perseverance and Purpose,” is soon to be released by Mosaica Press.
