Orthodox Union Executive Vice President Rabbi Steven Weil will be leading an OU Weekend at the Young Israel of Lawrence-Cedarhurst from Friday, November 8 – Saturday, November 9, (Shabbat Parshat Vayeitzei).
The synagogue is located at 8 Spruce Street, Cedarhurst.
Rabbi Weil will speak at the Oneg Shabbat on Friday night on the topic “The Winds of Change – Confronting Tomorrow’s Challenges Today.” Shabbat morning he will be discussing “Putting the Fun in Dysfunctional: The State of Marriage in the Orthodox Community.” In the afternoon after Seudah Shlishit, he will address “The Historical Blueprint – Ramban’s Revolution.”
“Many of us are very well educated, Jewishly, yet there’s a need for greater and more active appreciation for the relevance of our Judaism to the world around us,” explained Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum of Young Israel of Lawrence-Cedarhurst. “We look forward to Rabbi Weil’s contribution toward expanding the scope of Jewish conversation.”
