OU’s Rabbi Weil to Present OU Community Weekend at Congregation Ohr Torah of Edison, May 15-16, Shabbat Behar-Bechukotai

Rabbi Steven Weil, senior managing director at the Orthodox Union, will present an OU Community Weekend at Congregation Ohr Torah from Friday, May 15 to Saturday, May 16, Shabbat Parshiot Behar-Bechukotai.

The OU member synagogue is located at 48 Edgemont Road.

On Saturday morning, Rabbi Weil will deliver his sermon following the Mussaf service on “Apocalypse Now.” In the afternoon, he will be giving a lecture on the topic “The Watershed Moment That Defined Ashkenazic Jewry.” Rabbi Weil will culminate the weekend with a talk during Seudat Shlishit on “Paradigms.”

Rabbi Yaakov Luban, who in addition to serving as rabbi of Congregation Ohr Torah is also executive rabbinic coordinator at OU Kosher, declared, “Congregation Ohr Torah is very excited to welcome Rabbi Steven Weil to our community and we are deeply honored to have him as a scholar in residence for Shabbat.
