The Orthodox Union Department of Synagogue and Community Services will present an OU Community Weekend in Far Rockaway with Rabbi Steven Weil, OU senior managing director, at Congregation Kneseth Israel/The White Shul from Friday, May 29, to Saturday, May 30, Shabbat Parshat Naso.
The OU member synagogue is located at 728 Empire Avenue.
On Saturday morning Rabbi Weil will deliver a sermon prior to the Mussaf service on “The Aftermath of Apocalypse – Combating Isolationism; Growing the Jewish Community; Responses to the Pew Study.” Later in the afternoon before Mincha, he will give a lecture on “A Tour of Today’s Middle East: An Updated Islamic Overview.” Rabbi Weil will culminate the OU Community Weekend with a Pirkei Avot shiur before Maariv on the topic “The Methodology of Jewish Values.”
