Orthodox Union Executive Vice President Rabbi Steven Weil will be joining with Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, former Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom and current Professor at New York University and Yeshiva University, in a panel discussion “Engaging Jews in the Diaspora,” sponsored by the Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy in Beverly Hills.
The event will be held on Thursday, February 20 at the Young Israel of North Beverly Hills, 9261 North Alden Drive, and will be moderated by Michael Medved, radio host and political commentator.
“All funds raised at the event go directly to the school’s scholarship fund, making an education of excellence possible for another child,” explained Rabbi Boruch Sufrin, Head of School at the Academy.
Said Harry Nelson, President of the Board of Directors at the Academy, “We look forward to welcoming Rabbi Steven Weil and Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks to the Los Angeles Jewish community at our kick-off Shabbat Achdut weekend event. The focus of the panel discussion will be ‘Engaging Jews in the Diaspora,’ and we hope this evening will inspire the community to stay connected to Israel and engaged as a community in harmony.”
