OU’S SINGLES CONNECTION PRESENTS GRAND ISLAND (NIAGARA FALLS) WEEKEND RETREAT, MAY 30-JUNE 1

Niagara Falls, a world-class destination for tourists, nature lovers, and honeymooners alike, will now serve as the locale for a very special Shabbaton being offered by the OU’s Singles Connection program.

The Singles Connection of the OU Department of Community Services presents, along with Sasson v’Simcha, of Toronto, Canada, and the National Council of Young Israel, a Weekend Retreat at the Holiday Inn, Grand Island, NY, from Friday, May 30 to Sunday, June 1.

Grand Island is located minutes south of Niagara Falls.

The Singles Connection offers events and shabbatons for singles throughout the year. Sasson v’Simcha is a community-supported association of professional and volunteer matchmakers.

The program is geared specifically for Orthodox singles ages 27 to 39, from all over the United States and Canada. All applicants are subject to committee approval.

Shabbaton program highlights include “The Dating Game,” and a fun spin on “Speed Dating.” There will also be presentations by Rabbi Dr. Reuven Bulka of Ottawa, a well-known author and lecturer; Frank Buchweitz, Director of the OU’s Department of Community Services and Special Projects; Rebbetzin Judi Steinig, Director of Programming for the National Council of Young Israel; and Shalom Terris, MSW, and Aliza Terris, RSW. There will be a trip to Niagara Falls, as well as a Saturday night cruise featuring a kumsitz and melava malka.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for three great programs to come together to offer singles the chance to meet in a fun and relaxed Torah environment,” declared Frank Buchweitz.

Grand Island, located midway between Lake Erie and Niagara Falls, is just northwest of Buffalo, NY. It is easily accessible by traveling along Interstate 190 or New York State Route 324, or flying to Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Airlines with regularly scheduled flights to the airport include Continental, Jet Blue, Northwest, Southwest, and United, making the singles weekend accessible to the entire North American continent.

For more information or to register, contact Sasson v’Simcha at 416-256-4497. Those who register by April 15 will receive a special rate of $250, double occupancy. The regular rate is $299 per person; single occupancy is an additional $100.
