OU’s POSITIVE JEWISH PARENTING SEMINAR TO RETURN TO HANC, FEBRUARY 24; SESSIONS TO EXPLORE GIVING THE MOST TO OUR CHILDREN AND GETTING THE MOST OUT OF BEING A PARENT

In the fifth of a series of highly popular Positive Jewish Parenting seminars, to be held at the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County, the Orthodox Union and HANC will present Giving the Most to Our Children and Getting the Most Out of Being a Parent, on Saturday night, February 24, 2007.

Positive Jewish Parenting is a national program of the OU’s Department of Community Services and is sponsored in part by HANC Samuel and Elizabeth Bass Golding Elementary School; HANC PTA; Young Israel of West Hempstead Sisterhood; Congregation Anshei Shalom Sisterhood; and, Congregation Eitz Chayim of Dogwood Park.

The seminar’s workshops will emphasize role modeling in family relationships as well as understanding what children learn from their parents’ marriage.

“In an age, in which children are susceptible to negative influences outside the home, it is important for parents to step in and become the role models and guides their children need in today’s world,” declared Frank Buchweitz, National Director of OU’s Department of Community Services. “This program will enable parents to integrate suggestions, ideas and tips from professionals in approaching the very special task of caring for their children in a variety of critical areas,” he said.

Registration will take place at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, at the Samuel and Elizabeth Bass Golding Elementary School, 609 Hempstead Avenue, West Hempstead.
