OU WEST COAST REGION TO LAUNCH COMMUNITY CALENDAR FOR THE GREATER LOS ANGELES AREA ON ITS NEW WEBSITE, WWW.OUWESTCOAST.ORG

Beginning this Fall, the West Coast Region of the Orthodox Union will launch a community calendar for the greater Los Angeles area on its new website, www.ouwestcoast.org. The calendar will make it easier for organizations and individuals to list their special events and to avoid scheduling programs on the same date.

Its other special features include the ability for users to enter their data and to see an entire month of events at a time, or to zoom in on specific dates with greater detail.

“The calendar is the first of its kind for the Los Angeles community,” declared Rabbi Daniel Korobkin, West Coast Director of Synagogue and Community Services. “For far too long the Orthodox community has been tripping over itself with multiple programs being run on the same date,” he explained.

“Now,” according to Rabbi Korobkin, “through the community calendar, many of the scheduling conflicts will be avoided, thereby providing much benefit to the community at large.”

In addition to the community calendar, the website, which debuted about six months ago, features news related to the West Coast Region, including candle-lighting times for all the synagogues in the Region, and displays upcoming events to be held at OU West Coast Headquarters.
