OU West Coast Presents Two Legal Seminars: CLE for Attorneys and Estate Planning for Lay People

OU WEST COAST PRESENTS TWO LEGAL SEMINARS: CLE FOR ATTORNEYS, NOVEMBER 22 AND ESTATE PLANING FOR LAY PEOPLE, DECEMBER 6

The Orthodox Union West Coast Region will present two seminars dealing with significant legal matters for professionals and lay people alike at OU West Coast headquarters, 9831 West Pico Boulevard, in November and December.

On Sunday, November 22, legal professionals can earn CLE credits in What Every Lawyer Should Know About Criminal Defense and Celebrity Justice, held from 9:30 am to 11:45 am. This seminar will be delivered by well-known white collar criminal defense lawyer Donald Etra of Century City.

Allan Lowy, Esq., will chair the event, and the Akerman Senterfitt LLP firm will handle the CLE credits.

On Sunday, December 6, community members will have an opportunity to participate in an Estate Planning seminar, which will bring to light some of the aspects of aging, probates, trusts and halacha (Jewish law).

Speakers include,

•Dr. Steven C. Castle will speak on aging gracefully. He is a professor of medicine at UCLA and Division Chief of Geriatrics at the VA of Greater LA;

•Walter Weiss, Esq. will handle the ins-and-outs of probates and trusts;

•Susan Mendlowitz-Belgrade, LCSW, will speak on behalf of the Jewish Family Services and,

•Rabbi Dovid Revah, of Adas Torah, will discuss the necessity of an halachic will.
