OU West Coast Presents Event for Young Marrieds, Weathering Stress, on February 6

19 Jan 2010

In its efforts to enhance Jewish marriages, the Orthodox Union West Coast Region presents “Weathering the Storms of Stress: Building Internal Resilience” on Saturday night, February 6, 8:00 p.m. Hosted in a private residence, the event is open to young couples (ages 25-35) who are members of OU synagogues in the greater Los Angeles area.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Yehuda Gertel, who earned his Doctorate in Individual and Family Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology. For the past five years, he has worked successfully with diverse clinical populations and has earned a reputation as a professional with rare sensitivity, intuition and understanding.

Rabbi Alan Kalinsky, Director of OU West Coast, declared, “The topic was chosen since young families are under much stress due to the expenses of day schools, usual family conflicts, and daily life. Dr. Gertel was chosen since he is an outstanding member of our community kollel, and a contemporary of these young couples. By providing young families with programs specifically suited for them, we hope to establish ties with this demographic within our community.”

To attend, register by e-mail, esther@ou.org or contact 310-229-9000 ext. 201. Address will be provided upon registration.
