OU JOB BOARD TO HOST JEWISH COMMUNITY JOB PLACEMENT CONSORTIUM, SEPTEMBER 11 IN MANHATTAN

OU Job Board | Employment and Resumé Opportunities International Director Michael Rosner today announced that the Job Board will co-chair the next Jewish Community Job Placement Consortium (JCJPC), which will take place at the Orthodox Union Job Board Headquarters in Manhattan. The event will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11.

The Consortium will also be chaired by Baltimore-based Joblink of Maryland, Inc. Participants in the event will include CoJo of Flatbush; Employment Network of Raritan Valley; JFS Columbus; PCS Agudah; and EPI Network.

JCJPC was created to share job openings, trends, best practices, materials, and to explore other means of collaboration as ways of supporting the employment objectives of the collective constituencies.

The agenda will include: Recent Trends in Employment; Unemployment in Your Area; and a discussion of what employers would deem gaps between available jobs and what recent college graduates bring to the table, and what feedback could be provided to colleges that might rethink curricula and courses of study.

The event is for members only; organizations interested in sending a representative may contact Michael Rosner. Those who are unable to attend in person are able to participate via conference call.

Michael Rosner noted the OU Job Board Headquarters was chosen as a central location to make the meeting most possible for those members in the Tri-State area to join and meet face-to-face. “We rarely get the opportunity to meet like this and I hope that everyone will take advantage of the opportunity,” he said.
