OU JOB BOARD NOW RECRUITING EMPLOYERS IN ISRAEL FOR JULY 25 JOB FAIR IN JERUSALEM

The OU Job Board | Employment and Resumé Opportunities will present a Job Fair on Wednesday, July 25 at the Ramada Renaissance in Jerusalem for both native speakers of English and Hebrew. There is no charge for employers or candidates to participate.

Employers with available jobs should contact Michael Rosner, Director of the OU Job Board, at {encode=”http://jobsco@ou.org/” title=”jobsco@ou.org”}. Candidates can register on the OU Job Board website www.oujobs.org.

The last time that the OU Job Board held a Fair in Israel was in 2008, in conjunction with the OU Biennial Convention. That Job Fair was limited to olim — native speakers of English who had made aliyah to Israel — and drew 1,500 candidates and more than 60 employers.

This year’s Fair, with its openings for Hebrew speakers as well, should have an even larger attendance. Employers already signed on to participate in the Fair include the Jewish Agency, the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption, Municipal Employment Agency, and Municipal Klita Authority.

Michael Rosner said, “Making aliyah is often a dream nourished by many who seek to make their permanent home in Israel. One thing that can deter them is the search for a new job, an often daunting prospect, particularly when a foreign language is involved. OU Job Fairs, both in Israel and the United States, have been tremendously beneficial for both employers and job seekers, as we limit the candidates to only those qualified for the positions advertised.”

“In doing this,” he explained, “we receive a higher quality of people whose expertise is the job looking to be filled — often individuals have been hired on the spot are scheduled to visit a company for a second interview. The upcoming Job Fair in July will attract more employers and a wider variety of jobs, as a robust Israeli economy seeks to hire staff to benefit its growth. Furthermore, the OU Job Board will be reaching out to Haredi leaders and organizations urging the participation of their constituents.”

He also noted that the OU Job Board is planning to run a resumé writing seminar prior to the Fair to assist job seekers to create and update professional CVs to best prepare them to meet the employers once the Fair begins.

Potential applicants will be able to view a list online of available jobs and employers who will be attending the Fair at www.oujobs.org. For more information, contact {encode=”mailto:jobsco@ou.org” title=”jobsco@ou.org”} or call 212-563-4000.
