OU JOB BOARD OFFERS FREE CAREER COUNSELING ONLINE
The OU Job Board announces free career counseling. The service, to begin early this fall, is to be offered using WebEx, a completely interactive chatroom, and will allow individuals searching the job market to receive up to a half-hour of free professional guidance.
Michael Rosner, Director of the OU Job Board, declared, “Career counseling is very important today. It gives focus to a person, guiding them in a direction best suited to fit their needs and qualifications that they may not have considered in the past.”
To join the program, participants are requested to send an updated resumé and a brief description (about four sentences) about themselves and their career preferences to jobs@ou.org.
Participants are required to use high-speed internet access, a web camera and a separate microphone to allow easy interaction with the counselors. Each session will focus on working with the individuals on what employment venues may be best suited for them based upon their skills and goals in life. The counseling is not for help in resumé writing; that is provided in other OU Job Board programs.
The OU Job Board is looking for individuals interested in joining the team of professional career counselors and for participants looking for direction to participate in an extensive test period beginning mid-August, prior to the fall beginning.
