OU ANnounces Three Upcoming Singles Events, Nov. 18, Dec. 4, and Dec. 20

31 Oct 2008

Frank Buchweitz, National Director of the Department of Community Services, declared, “The OU provides numerous opportunities, in a variety of programs throughout the year, for singles to meet in a low-pressure atmosphere of enjoying activities and stimulating conversation.”

“The Green Torah,” for singles ages 35 and up, will feature dinner and discussion led by Evonne Marzouk, Founder and Director, Canfei Nesharim, a Torah-based environmental movement which seeks to help the Jewish community understand and act on the relationship between the Torah and modern environmental issues. The event, which will feature a buffet dinner and a meet-and-mingle before the discussion, is $30 in advance, and $36 at the door.

The concert on December 4, for men and women of all ages, will feature Simply Tsfat, a popular band from Israel that incorporates Hasidic and reggae elements into their music, in a special New York performance. There will be a dairy dessert reception following the concert. Proceeds of the concert will go towards the OU Beautiful Child Campaign, which collects and distributes Chanukah gifts for hospitalized children.

The OU’s Beautiful Child Campaign, now in its twelfth year, helps bring smiles to the faces of sick children in hospitals and helps remove the loneliness of spending Chanukah in a hospital setting.

The third event will be a Chanukah concert, for singles in their 20’s and 30’s, headlined by Jewish rock musician Aryeh Kuntsler and the Aryeh Kuntsler band. There will be a dairy dessert served during the musical performance. The concert is $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
