Last night Nextdor, in partnership with FrumDevCon, hosted their second meetup for Orthodox Jewish professionals in software development. NextDor was created by Rabbi David Pardo and the event was coordinated by project specialist Hannah Snitcovski.
Seventy people, representing a broad spectrum of Orthodox Judaism, attended. From Jews in frocks to Frisch grads, pros who work for Google, Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, and those from starts ups and small businesses.
Attendees came to network with each other, advance their careers by learning from an expert and build a community of mutual support founded on shared commitments.
Positive feedback was voiced throughout the event. “Why isn’t there more of this?” wondered one attendee, while another remarked, “I didn’t realize how many frum Jews in software development I don’t know.” A number of people asked if they could volunteer.
