The just-announced recipient of the Israel Prize in Jewish Religious Literature,

Which is awarded by the Israel Education Ministry and will be presented

In Jerusalem on Israel Independence Day, Iyar 6, 5774,corresponding to May 6, 2014.

Rabbi Dr. Lichtenstein is widely regarded as one of the great intellects and spiritual leaders of

the Torah World.

The Prize, considered to be Israel’s highest honor, recognizes Rabbi Dr. Lichtenstein’s contributions in the fields of Torah, Tanach, Mishnah, Talmud, Halacha, Midrash & Jewish Law.

He has been a model for generations of students and Jewish leaders and a guiding light for the Jewish world.
