Today, in response to the operation launched last night by Israel Defense Forces against terrorists based in the city of Jenin, the leadership of the Orthodox Union issued the following statement: We stand in fervent prayer and express our strong support for the Israel Defense Forces operation in Jenin. The State of Israel has a duty to restore peace and security to its citizens and we encourage their necessary actions to stop the current wave of attacks by dismantling and destroying the terrorist infrastructure and those who support it. We join with Jews everywhere and with all who love peace in praying for the safety and success of the soldiers of Tzahal in their principled battle for peace. We join our congregations and all those in our community in reciting the following Tefilot:

May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our soldiers from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory.
