NEW YORK NCSY PRESENTS SPIRITUAL SOLUTIONS: GUIDING OUR CHILDREN THROUGH TODAY’S GREATEST CHALLENGES, MAY 6
New York NCSY presents a community-wide parenting program, SPIRITUAL SOLUTIONS: Guiding Our Children Through Today’s Greatest Challenges, Sunday, May 6, at the Young Israel of Lawrence-Cedarhurst, 8 Spruce Street, Cedarhurst, from 9 am – 12 pm.
NCSY is the international youth movement of the Orthodox Union.
The entire community is invited to this free parenting program. Through a series of sessions, rabbis, educators and professionals will address contemporary issues and challenges experienced by teens and give practical steps to take as parents, families, synagogues and schools to reignite a sense of spirituality in our teens, ourselves and our community.
Rabbi Aryeh Lightstone, Regional Director of New York NCSY, said, “Back in November, parents from the community approached me about planning a program for parents and educators regarding the challenges our community is facing today. Not wanting to restate the well-known issues, they were looking for practical steps that we can take as families, shuls, camps and schools to reinfuse spirituality in our teens, ourselves and our community. This program, emphasizing spirituality for elementary children through teens, is the result.”
Rena Kwestel, one of the parents who is spearheading the program, said, “When an issue is big enough to threaten the future of our community – it is time to get together as a community to discuss solutions.”
