DONALD TRUMP GENERAL COUNSEL JASON DOV GREENBLATT SPEAKS AT NEW JERSEY NCSY’S “LATTE AND LEARNING”
Executive Vice President and General Counsel of The Trump Organization, Jason Dov Greenblatt, with his son Noah and NCSY’s “Latte and Learning” Englishtown participants.
There was a feeling of excitement in the air at the local Baskin Robbins/Dunkin Donuts in Englishtown on May 31. The 50 teens who meet weekly for New Jersey NCSY’s “Latte and Learning” program were looking forward to a special guest appearance by Jason Dov Greenblatt, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of The Trump Organization. The students, who attend a variety of public schools and yeshiva/day schools in the area, get together for coffee, ice cream and a healthy dose of Jewish inspiration every Tuesday night under the leadership of NCSY Monmouth County Directors, Ariel and Yardena Bannett.

Having worked at Trump for the past 15 years, Mr. Greenblatt is one of the top executives. He is responsible for corporate real estate; lending; entertainment; and general legal matters, as well as diverse business affairs. He was also involved in structuring Mr. Trump’s side of the transaction for the number one rated television show, The Apprentice.
During his 20-minute presentation, Mr. Greenblatt shared with the enraptured students several personal stories of how Shabbat and Yom Tov remained one of his most important priorities while travelling the world on behalf of Mr. Trump. In one story, he recalled working on an eight-hundred million dollar deal that took longer than expected to complete and was going to continue through the upcoming Jewish holiday. Mr. Greenblatt informed Mr. Trump that because of religious reasons, he needed to leave the deal for a few days and would return after the holiday was over. Mr. Trump was very understanding and supportive of his religion and said, “Go and be with your family.”
“Hearing from a successful lawyer who keeps Shabbat and Jewish holidays a top priority has a certain ‘wow’ appeal! Teenagers love that — he makes it cool to be observant,” said Rabbi Dovid Cofnas, Director of Development for New Jersey NCSY. “Mr. Greenblatt feels very strongly about upholding traditional Jewish values and wants to transmit that to the next generation. His talk made a great impact,” he said.
After the speech, Mr. Greenblatt fielded questions on many topics including Donald Trump’s recent bid for President of the United States, and whether he wore a wig. “It’s real,” Mr. Greenblatt assured the amused students.
As Mr. Greenblatt left for the hour-long drive back to his home in Teaneck, he was mobbed by teens who wanted a chance to spend a bit more time with someone they consider to be a Jewish role model.
