Rabbi Yaakov Glasser, Regional Director of New Jersey NCSY, and Marc Fein, Regional Director of Upstate New York NCSY, have joined NCSY International Headquarters in New York to spearhead the organization’s initiative to strengthen its educational department and advisor development. Rabbi Glasser has been with NCSY for over a decade and will now serve as the NCSY Director of Education, in addition to his role as Regional Director. Marc Fein has spent six years working with Upstate New York and has taken on the position of NCSY Director of Advisor Development. Likewise, Marc will continue to serve as Regional Director.

As NCSY Director of Education, Rabbi Glasser will be responsible for developing both an educational curriculum and educational programming for all the NCSY regions across the United States and Canada, together with his colleague, Rabbi Dovid Bashevkin, and a team of NCSY staff. Rabbi Glasser received rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, a Master’s in Education from Azrieli Graduate School of Education and Administration and spent several years studying in Kollel LeHora’ah, all at Yeshiva University.

Rabbi Steven Burg, International Director of NCSY, said, “Rabbi Glasser is uniquely suited to enrich and enliven the quality of NCSY’s education. He is excited to infuse even more Torah content into NCSY programming and to create an environment of Torah learning and spiritual growth for NCSYers, advisors, and staff.”

Rabbi Glasser, together with his team, will be designing a mentorship program with world-class educators that will culminate in an exclusive Yarchei Kallah, an educational seminar regarding contemporary pedagogy and relevant content, for NCSY educators. He will also be creating a database filled with relevant media programming. In addition to developing new and innovative programming, Rabbi Glasser is working to modernize classic NCSY programming for the new generation. He will be instrumental in launching the new Jewish Scholars Program, a program modeled after Atlantic Seaboard NCSY’s Senator Ben Cardin Jewish Scholars Program, into four new NCSY Regions. Other projects include learning initiatives for NCSY staff to enhance their own Torah learning and mentorship programs.

As NCSY Director of Advisor Development, Marc Fein is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training and management of these key NCSY staff members. Marc began his NCSY career as an advisor in the Upstate New York Region in 2005. Over the years, he graduated to Associate Regional Director and now serves as the Upstate New York Regional Director. Having ascended the NCSY ladder, Marc has spent the last few years specifically focusing on advisor training. He has led training sessions at NCSY Staff Conferences and mentored head advisors in regions throughout the country.

“Marc is a tremendous asset to the Advisor Development initiative. Over the course of the year, Marc plans to create a culture conducive to both talent identification and cultivation; partner with regions to recruit even more talented advisors; and develop best practices for advisor training. Everyone at NCSY is anxiously awaiting Marc to work his magic,” said Rabbi Burg.

Keevy Fried, Associate International Director of NCSY, noted, “Given the strong leadership of Rabbi Yaakov Glasser and Marc Fein, NCSY is excited to reach even greater heights, thanks to the dedication and passion of such gifted educators.”
