MARTIN NACHIMSON OF VALLEY VILLAGE (LA) NAMED CHAIRMAN OF SYNAGOGUE STANDARDS COMMITTEE OF OU SYNAGOGUE AND COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION
Orthodox Union President Dr. Simcha Katz announced today that Martin Nachimson of Valley Village in Los Angeles has been named Chairman of the Synagogue Standards Committee of the OU Synagogue and Community Services Commission and was also appointed to the OU Steering Committee, ex officio.
Mr. Nachimson is a Senior Vice President of the OU, and served as Chair of its Youth Commission from 2004 to earlier this year. He is extremely active in the Los Angeles-based West Coast Region, serving as President for six years, and is still “very involved in the day-to-day activities of the Region,” said Rabbi Alan Kalinsky, Director of the Region.
OU President Simcha Katz declared, “We are very honored that Marty has accepted the Chairmanship of the Synagogue Standards Committee.” He has served the OU in many capacities for over three decades. His dedication, experience and judgment are his hallmark and he will continue to serve the best interests of the Klal.”
Mr. Nachimson said, “After being involved for years with the West Coast Region and with NCSY | Jewish Youth Leadership, I am delighted to now be reaching out to synagogues across North America and to work with their leadership.”

He will do an excellent job with this new leadership position. I, together with the national staff, look forward to working closely with Marty in the years ahead.”
Martin Nachimson is a Managing Director at Macquarie Capital (USA) Inc. where he is the senior member of the Restructuring and Special Situations Group. His entire career has been with Macquarie and predecessors Ernst & Young and Giuliani Capital Advisors. Mr. Nachimson holds an A.B. from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
