The OU Job Board | Employment and Resumé Opportunities and Touro College will present “LinkedIn 101 Professional Networking Workshop: What You Need to Know” from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18 at OU Headquarters in Manhattan, 11 Broadway. There is no charge for participation, but registration is required and spots are limited.
The workshop will be led by Chaim Shapiro, assistant director of Career Services at Touro College. He additionally works as a freelance writer, public speaker and social media consultant specializing in LinkedIn.
“LinkedIn has become a critical tool for people looking for employment and business ideas,” said Michael Rosner, international director of the OU Job Board. “More than any other Social Media network online, I find LinkedIn to be the most useful and serious tool to find employment. This is our fourth LinkedIn seminar and Chaim’s third with the OU Job Board. His articulate manner and step-by-step approach is critical for current and would be LinkedIn users.”
Topics of discussion will include “From Why to How: The Evolution of LinkedIn as a Networking Tool;” “Job Search Features—It’s All About Who You Know;” and “Produce a Professional and Meaningful Profile.”
Mr. Shapiro earned a Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel from Loyola University, Chicago, and also studied in the Institutional Leadership and Policy Studies Ph.D. program at the University of California, Riverside Graduate School of Education.
