KOREN AND OU PRESS CO-PUBLISH KOREN SACKS SEPHARAD SIDDUR

The Orthodox Union has announced that its publishing arm, OU Press | Jewish Educational Publications, in conjunction with Koren Publishers, has just issued a Nusach Sepharad version of the popular Koren Sacks Siddur. Like its Ashkenazic counterpart, the Koren Sacks Sepharad Siddur features an illuminating translation, introduction, and commentary by one of the world’s leading Jewish thinkers, Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth.

The Koren Sacks Sepharad Siddur continues Koren’s renowned traditions of textual accuracy, intuitive graphic design, and elegant presentation of the prayers. It is the only Orthodox siddur that includes: prayers for the State of Israel, its soldiers and national holidays; a halakhic guide for visitors; prayers following childbirth; a modern translation and transliteration; and citations of modern authorities.

For added convenience, the siddur is available in three versions — standard size/hardcover; compact size/softcover; and compact size/brown leather.

OU Press publishes outstanding liturgical works in cooperation with Koren Publishers. One recent noteworthy publication, especially appropriate for this time of year, is the Mesorat HaRav Kinot, which contains the Tisha B’Av Kinot (eulogies) with the monumental commentary of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik and a new English translation of the Kinot by Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, Executive Vice President, Emeritus, of the Orthodox Union. The edition includes the complete prayer service for Tisha B’Av together with the English translation of the prayers by Rabbi Sacks. The Mesorat HaRav Kinot is the winner of the 2010 National Jewish Book Award.
