ISRAEL’S AMBASSADOR TO U.S., MICHAEL B. OREN, TO BE KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT OU ANNUAL DINNER, DECEMBER 6
Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Michael B. Oren, will be the keynote speaker at the Orthodox Union’s 111th Annual Dinner & Awards Presentation, Sunday evening, December 6 at the Hudson Theater and Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York.
At the dinner, the OU will honor Yachad, the National Jewish Council for Disabilities (NJCD), an agency of the OU, on its 25th anniversary. It will also pay tribute to Schreiber Foods Inc. with its National Kashrut Leadership Award.

A native of New Jersey, Michael Oren made aliyah to Israel in the 1970’s after receiving his undergraduate degree from Columbia and his doctorate from Princeton. He is the author of two New York Times bestsellers, Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East; and Power, Faith and Fantasy: America in the Middle East, 1776 to the Present. Among other activities, he has served as a visiting professor at Harvard, Yale and Georgetown; was a gold medal winner at the Maccabia Games; an officer in the Israel Defense Forces; and an IDF spokesman during the Second Lebanon War and the Gaza operation in January 2009.
