Every year, after the two-day Kosherfest trade show takes place in the New York City area (this year once again it was at the Meadowlands Exhibition Center in Secaucus, NJ), the representatives of numerous kosher certification organizations represented at the show convene at the Orthodox Union’s New York headquarters to discuss significant issues in the kosher world today, under the aegis of the Chicago-based Association of Kashrus Organizations (AKO). Rabbi Sholem Fishbane is the Executive Director of AKO.
This year was no different, as an eclectic gathering of kashrut officials came together, before dispersing across the continent and the oceans to return home.
“Although this isn’t an OU event, OU Kosher is delighted to provide the venue,” declared Rabbi Menachem Genack, CEO of OU Kosher, who delivered the introductory remarks. “We are always glad to welcome Rabbi Fishbane and rabbis from all over the globe to the conference. The issues that are discussed are very important for all of us. We look forward to hosting the conference again next year.”
