AARON KINDERLEHRER OF KEW GARDENS HILLS RENAMED CHAIRMAN OF OU YACHAD/NJCD COMMISSION

Orthodox Union President Dr. Simcha Katz announced today that Aaron Kinderlehrer of Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, NY, has been reappointed Chairman of the OU’s Yachad | Jewish Disabilities Integration/NJCD Commission. Yachad, the flagship program of the Orthodox Union’s National Jewish Council for Disabilities (NJCD), provides unique social, educational and recreational programs for individuals with learning, developmental and physical disabilities.

“Yachad is indeed fortunate that Aaron will be continuing as Chair. It is important that the most vulnerable among our children have a champion in Aaron, with his devotion and skill,” declared Dr. Katz.

Dr. Jeffrey Lichtman, National Director of Yachad/NJCD, described Mr. Kinderlehrer as “an individual who is extremely dedicated to the Jewish community as a whole, and to the Inclusion of all people who have disabilities. He is able to look at all sides of an issue with both deep and broad perspective, and always with an open mind. I have enjoyed working with and learning from him; and look forward to our continued partnership on behalf of all children and adults who have disabilities.”

Mr. Kinderlehrer himself comments, “I have been a Yachad parent for over 25 years, a Yachad Board member for almost 10 years and the Chairman of the Yachad Commission for the past two years. I have been an eyewitness to all that Yachad means and has accomplished during that period. Yachad has revolutionized life for the better for special needs individuals in the Jewish community. I hope, with the OU’s support, to help lead Yachad into many further quality of life improvement and inclusion breakthroughs and into more communities around the nation.”

Aaron Kinderlehrer is a partner in the New York law firm of Wilk Auslander LLP and is a graduate of Yeshiva University and Yale Law School.
