Financial Management Intern

Met Council is one of New York’s largest human services agencies, providing more than 100,000 New Yorkers with critical services in their fight against poverty and its effects every year.

Met Council seeks an intern to work in Met Council’s Finance Department on a several Financial Management Projects. Assignments will have demonstrable results at the end of the assignment.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Create fully loaded P&L’s for Met Council’s programs, including the allocation of indirect, overhead and balance sheet costs. Develop a process to manage fully loaded profitability on an ongoing basis.
• Implement new cash management processes, including EFT’s (electronic funds transfers) for Accounts Payable, and automated account reconciliation.
• Work with program managers to create program and department budgets.

Requirements:
Strong candidates will have financial analysis skills, strong business analysis skills, and be very knowledgeable of Microsoft Excel.
Candidates should have strong analytic skills, and be detail oriented. Candidate must also have good written and verbal communication skills.
