As part of the OU’s annual Maot Chitim campaign we are partnering with the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty to provide funds to help feed NYC families in need of food for Passover. Another part of that effort will be providing volunteers–(OU Staff and lay leadership!)– to help with the stocking and distribution of food and the administrative activities that go along with it. Please read about the different volunteer opportunities below and choose a time slot where you will be available. Please note the slots are limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.
This is a rare opportunity for members of the OU Family to work together, in a setting outside of the office, and at the same time perform a tremendous act of chesed for those less fortunate.
Types of Volunteer opportunities:
- Delivery/Unloading: Volunteers needed to help unload pallets of food into pantries, shelve food products, and prepare pantry space for packaging and distribution.
- Packaging: Volunteers needed to assemble food packages according to client order sheets that will be handed out to client families during distribution events.
- Distribution: Volunteers needed to distribute food products to client families in need at food pantry distribution events.
