Our Way Shabbaton at Kingsway Jewish Center

Our Way, the OU’s program for the deaf and hard of hearing, will hold a Shabbaton in Brooklyn the weekend of March 16-17 at Kingsway Jewish Center, 2810 Nostrand Avenue. The Shabbaton will feature deaf scholar-in-residence Rabbi David Kastor; deaf coordinator Tzila Seewald-Russel; and deaf hosts Avrummy and Rochi Globman. It will also feature a special showing of Banai, the story of Liran Banai, a hearing son of deaf parents who was ambushed and critically injured during the Gaza War. The DVD will be shown in voice, Hebrew sign language, and English caption. Shabbaton topics will include “How to Pray: What to Say”; “The Miracles of Pesach”; a session of “Ask OU About Pesach” with OU Rabbinic Coordinator Rabbi Shmuel Singer; an interpreted Torah reading; inspiring stories, and much more.
