WEST COAST NCSY PRESENTS TORAH HIGH, AN EXCITING TEEN PROGRAM IN LA, BEGINNING EARLY OCTOBER

Starting early October, NCSY will be offering an exciting new opportunity for Jewish teenagers in the Los Angeles area. Torah High, a popular success in cities across North America, will be opening its doors beginning at the NCSY West Coast Region building, 9831 West Pico Boulevard.

NCSY is the international youth program of the Orthodox Union.

The program — with classes in Visual Arts, Political Advocacy, Hebrew Language, Jewish History, and Jewish Philosophy — is intended for Jewish public school teens, grades 9-12. No synagogue or temple affiliation is required. Classes will take place Monday-Thursday, twice a week, for one hour each. Faculty and costs will be announced at a later time.

Through this program, teens will have an opportunity to meet new people, form meaningful friendships, learn about their heritage and have fun. Founded by Rabbi Glenn Black, CEO of NCSY Canada, for Canadian teenagers, more than 1,000 teens participate in NCSY Torah High throughout North America.

According to Rabbi Effie Goldberg, Executive Director of West Coast NCSY, “It is important to engage as many Jewish teens as possible. Torah High is a new program geared to the students who want to incorporate Jewish knowledge and values into their daily lives. This is an additional avenue for the teens to connect with their Jewish roots in a fun and educational setting.”
