NCSY announces two major changes in Southwest NCSY in the Orthodox Union’s continued effort to strengthen NCSY both on a national and local level.

Rabbi Israel Lashak has been promoted from his longstanding role as Southwest NCSY regional director to National NCSY Senior Educator. In this new capacity, Rabbi Lashak will travel the country throughout the year inspiring teens and working to improve the quality of education among staff and advisors. In addition, he will remain in Dallas and maintain a portfolio within Southwest NCSY as the Region’s director of education.

New Southwest NCSY Regional Director Rabbi Gershon Meisel

“We are deeply grateful for the two decades Rabbi Lashak dedicated to building Southwest NCSY into the region it is today,” declared International NCSY Director Rabbi Micah Greenland. “There are countless individuals whose lives have been changed by Rabbi Lashak, and we are confident that his impact will be greater and his reach further in his new role.”

Rabbi Greenland continued, “We are pleased to welcome Rabbi Gershon Meisel as Southwest NCSY’s new regional director. Rabbi Meisel is presently a Fellow of the Yeshiva University Torah Mitzion Kollel in Chicago. He served previously as the Associate Director of NCSY in St. Louis and has been involved in NCSY since his college years at Yeshiva University. Rabbi Meisel’s warmth, dedication and experience building up St. Louis NCSY made him the perfect fit for the job. Rabbi Meisel and his wife Tzippy will move to Houston with their two children this coming July.”

“We are certain that Rabbi Lashak and Rabbi Meisel will bring about positive changes in their new roles and continue the NCSY tradition of bringing Jewish teens closer to their Judaism.”
